Joe is an Art Director based in Atlanta. He has been a staple of the Atlanta Art Department community

since he moved to Atlanta after graduating collage almost twenty years ago. Prior to working as an

Art Director, Joe honed leadership, labor and logistical skills working as a gang boss and leadman in the

Set Dec department. Between shows he focused on learning how to draft, eventually making the transition

to Assistant Art Director on the critically acclaimed AMC Series "Lodge 49". In the years following, he has

worked as an Art Director or Supervising Art Director on a wide variety of projects in size. These include

smaller indie films like “The Tiger Rising” to large budget films and episodic shows such as the critically

acclaimed “The Staircase” for HBO Max.

Most recently, as the Supervising Art Director of "Scary Movie", I led our top-tier, entirely Atlanta-based

Art Department through a fast-paced, high-volume show filled with complex location sets and heavy,

detailed stage builds. Art Department involvement was key in assisting with the successful execution of the

numerous stunts and special effects. As a department leader, I actively foster inter/intra-departmental

communication that is clear and decisive. 

 

While I always love working at home in Atlanta, I am an avid traveller and have been fortunate

enough to work on shows across the country - including Detroit, MI, Oklahoma City, OK, Fairhope, AL, Wilmington, NC

and his home state of Massachusetts in Northampton & Boston. 

 

When not working on film projects I is one half of an acoustic duo - Dean Burns and Joe Nadeau (creative name... I know) and can be found singing and playing guitar in various venues across Atlanta.
